I was going to ask this on tumblr, but then I remembered, 'Hey, Deviantart journals exists!" Though, I'll probably still ask there.
Alright so I have some polyurethane, that I want to cover some parts of an acrylic painting in..
And I was wondering if it'd eat away at the paint. (Since polyurethane is oil-based after all) or just plain out not work, or not dry or something.
Or even if I can mix it with paint!
Or if it's worth it all. I'm pretty sure it's much more glossy than any glossy acrylic varnish, but maybe I'm wrong!

And haha, I like how lots of things I use have such scary warning and always known to cause cancer in the state of California. xl

Buuhhh.. I didn't comment cuz I am not 100%, but seems like if you didn't paint very thick with acrylic, and the canvas is still porous, the polyurethane should stay ok.
Polyurethane is generally used for walls and decks as far as I am concerned LOL

Otherwise, you would need to gesso over the whole canvas to get a porous ground again.
What is gesso anyway? I think of it as chalk glue

My gut tells me the polyurethane would peel off the acrylic or chip easily.

Did you already try? What were your results? xD
